Product Details

Hawthorne is a rust brown cap-toe service boot made with horse leather. A cap-toe seam divides the front panel from the vamp and gives the toe a clearly defined outline.

Leather and finish

The upper is horse leather, with horse leather lining and a cowhide insole. The wash is applied to the assembled shoe, making it part of the finish on this pair.

Construction and sole

Cemented construction is paired with a leather sole with rubber patches.

Nice balance between casual and dressy. I can wear these to the office with chinos and then switch to jeans on the weekend. The sole felt pretty firm at first but has gotten more comfortable with wear.

The color was the main reason I ordered these, and it looks even better outdoors. The leather feels substantial and the stitching on my pair looks clean. They’re not lightweight, but that’s what I expected from this kind of boot.

I really like the cap-toe shape on these boots. The brown leather has some natural variation that gives them a lot of character. They took a couple of wears to feel comfortable around the sides.

These have a nice vintage look without feeling overly rugged. I’ve worn them with dark jeans and chinos and they work well with both. The sole is a little heavier than my regular shoes, but it feels solid.

The rust brown color looks really good in person and has more depth than I expected. I like the contrast with the lighter laces too. They were a little stiff around the ankle at first, but started loosening up after a few wears.
