Product Details

Ashford is a black wingtip derby made with calfskin. Brogue detailing brings perforated patterns to the upper, drawing attention to the panels and toe.

Leather and finish

The upper is calfskin, with calfskin lining and a cowhide insole. The assembled shoe is washed and dyed after construction.

Construction and sole

Cemented construction is paired with a leather sole with rubber patches. The listed heel height is approximately 3.5 cm.

Customers praised the washed black wingtip derby for its vintage character and natural leather texture. The finish creates unique variations that "look better in person." While slightly stiff initially, they break in comfortably. Versatile for dressy or casual wear. Note: heavier than typical dress shoes, but offer better grip and sturdy construction.

These have a nice vintage look without looking worn out. The washed black finish makes each part of the leather look a little different, which I actually like. Just know that they aren’t a super lightweight shoe.

The brogue details are noticeable but not overdone. I like the rounded toe because it gives the shoe a little more room and a less pointed look. They were slightly stiff out of the box but comfortable after wearing them around.

Wore these to dinner and then again for a work event. They’re dressy enough without looking too formal, which is what I wanted. The sole also has better grip than my usual leather-soled dress shoes.

The leather texture is what stood out to me most. You can see the natural creases and washed finish, so they don’t look overly polished or shiny. Took me a few wears to get them broken in.

I really like the wingtip detailing on these. They work well with dark jeans and also look good with dress pants. They’re a little heavier than some of my other shoes, but they feel sturdy.

The washed black leather has a lot more character than a regular pair of black dress shoes. The finish is slightly uneven in a good way and looks better in person. They felt a little firm the first couple of wears.
