Leather and finish

The upper is roughout shell cordovan, with horse leather lining and a cowhide insole.

Customers praised the roughout leather texture and substantial feel. The brown color and rugged finish hide scuffs well. Shoes require a break-in period of a few days but soften nicely. Goodyear welt construction provides durability. Note: heavier than typical casual shoes, which some appreciate for the solid feel.

These have a really solid, old-school feel. I like the brown color and the rough finish because I don’t have to worry about every little scuff. They are heavier than my usual shoes, though.

The roughout leather looks really good in person. It has a lot more texture than regular suede and feels very substantial. They were a little stiff the first couple of wears, but they’re breaking in nicely.

The leather texture is what sold me on these. It has a worn-in look without actually looking beat up. They’re a bit stiff around the heel at first, but mine softened up after a few days.

These are definitely more substantial than a regular casual shoe. I’ve worn them with denim and heavier chinos and they work really well. The roughout leather also hides small scuffs pretty well.

I really like the brown color and the rugged finish. The Goodyear welt construction makes the shoes feel well built, and the sole has good grip. They needed a few wears before they started feeling broken in.

The roughout leather has a lot more texture in person than it does in the photos. They feel very solid and substantial on foot. A little heavier than my usual shoes, but that’s part of the appeal for me.
