Rivington is a coffee brown elastic-side brogue shoe made with shell cordovan. Brogue detailing brings perforated patterns to the upper, drawing attention to the panels and toe.

Leather and finish

The upper is shell cordovan, with horse leather lining and a cowhide insole.

Construction and sole

Goodyear-welted construction is paired with a leather sole with rubber patches. The listed heel height is 5 cm.

I’ve worn these with charcoal trousers and dark denim and they worked well with both. The cordovan gives them a refined look without making them feel too formal. They needed some break-in time around the heel, which I expected with a sturdier shoe.

These feel substantial the moment you put them on. The welted construction and thicker outsole give them a solid feel when walking. They’re definitely heavier than my regular dress shoes, so that took a little getting used to.

The coffee brown cordovan has a lot more depth in person than I expected. It looks especially nice in natural light and doesn’t come across as overly shiny. They felt pretty firm at first, but started breaking in after a few wears.
