Ironwood is a coffee brown tall moc-toe boot made with horse leather. Moc-toe stitching follows the front of the shoe, outlining the toe panel and giving the upper a distinct shape.

Leather and finish

The upper is horse leather, with horse leather lining and a cowhide insole. The wash is applied to the assembled shoe, making it part of the finish on this pair.

Construction and sole

Goodyear-welted construction is paired with a leather sole with rubber patches.

The construction feels solid and the thicker sole gives good support underfoot. I especially like that I can use the zipper instead of adjusting the laces every time. Definitely more substantial than a lightweight casual boot.

Been wearing these mostly with dark jeans and they look great. The coffee brown color is easy to match and doesn’t look too dressy. The leather needed a little break-in time out of the box.

I really like the taller shape and the moc-toe stitching on these. The front zipper makes them much easier to get on than most of my lace-up boots. They are a bit heavier than I expected.

The brown leather looks richer in person and has a nice natural texture. They felt a little stiff around the ankle at first, but started breaking in after a few wears.
