Regent is a coffee brown chelsea boot made with calfskin. Elastic side panels define the pull-on silhouette and leave the front of the boot free of laces.

Leather and finish

The upper is calfskin, with calfskin lining and a cowhide insole. The wash is applied to the assembled shoe, making it part of the finish on this pair.

Construction and sole

Cemented construction is paired with a leather sole with rubber patches.

I’ve worn these to work and out to dinner, and they fit both settings pretty well. The leather has some natural color variation that makes the pair look less plain. I do wish they were a little softer right out of the box.

The wingtip-style detailing is what caught my eye. It gives the shoes a classic look, but the washed finish keeps them from feeling too traditional. The heel area needed a little breaking in for me.

I like that these work with both dress pants and dark denim. The brown color is easy to match, and the textured sole gives them a more practical feel. They’re slightly heavier than my usual office shoes, but still comfortable.

The washed brown leather has a nice depth to it and looks better in person than in the photos. The brogue detailing adds some character without making the shoe feel too formal. They were a little stiff at first, but started to loosen up after a few wears.
